Albert Einstein Academies (AEA) is comprised of three high-performing public charter schools located near downtown San Diego, CA:

We are proud to offer the world-renowned International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum to all students.  As free public charter schools we never charge tuition of any kind. The motto that distills our mission and vision is “Teaching our children today to advance our shared humanity tomorrow.”

IB Curriculum

AEA provides the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (IB PYP) and Middle Years Programme (IB MYP); Diploma Programme (IB DP) coming Fall 2026.

Tuition Free

Albert Einstein Academies is a tuition-free public charter school dedicated to providing high-quality education in a supportive and innovative learning environment. 

Language Programs

Elementary students (K–5) receive instruction in both German and English across all core subjects, building strong academic skills while fostering bilingualism and cultural awareness. In middle school (6–8), students expand their global learning by choosing German or Spanish language classes.

ExchangeStein

Our Foreign Travel and Exchange Program, grounded in the ten attributes of the IB learner profile, aims to nurture curious, knowledgeable, and compassionate students by exposing them to a variety of cultures and languages.

Sports Program

Albert Einstein Academies Athletic Department seeks to instill positive character-building traits in our students through the demonstration of good sportsmanship, respect for others, responsibility, fairness, caring and good citizenship.

AfterStein Program

AfterStein seeks to provide students with unique clubs, academic specific support, tutoring, physical play, and sports all while continuing to foster a safe and healthy learning environment.

Music Program

Our music program gives students the chance to shine and share their talents with the community. We inspire passion, commitment, and excellence—helping students grow as musicians and develop life skills that will serve them in all areas of life.

Foreign Language

Our language program opens doors to the world! Our language program is built to help our students to connect, communicate, and thrive in a global community.

 

Art Program

Students explore a variety of mediums and techniques, developing their skills while learning to see the world in new ways. From bold paintings to intricate designs, every project encourages imagination, confidence, and a lifelong love for the arts.

Our Curriculum

International Baccalaureate Curriculum

We are proud to offer the prestigious International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP) and Primary Years Programme (IB PYP). This world-wide framework uses Units of Inquiry to help students assume ownership for their learning within a rigorous curriculum. The aim of all IB programmes is to develop internationally minded people who, recognizing their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world. As IB learners, we strive towards 10 attributes we call IB Learner Profiles. Those are:

Communicators

We express ourselves confidently and creatively in more than one language and in many ways. We collaborate effectively, listening carefully to the perspectives of other individuals and groups.

We understand the importance of balancing different aspects of our lives- intellectual, physical, and emotional to achieve well-being for ourselves and others. We recognize our inderdependence with other people and the world in which we live.

Where are your schools located?

Our Elementary campus is located at 3035 Ash St San Diego, CA 92102 in Southpark. Our Middle school campus is located at 458 26th Street San Diego, Ca 92102 in Grant Hill.

What is a charter?

A charter school is a free public school that operates independently from the local district, giving us the flexibility to create innovative programs and personalized learning while still meeting state standards.

What is the cost of the tuition?

There is no tuition. Albert Einstein Academies is a public charter school and requires no tuition fees.

What is the dress code?

Our students are required to wear uniforms. Our school provides each student with FREE uniforms at the beginning of the school year. Each student will receive 2 polo shirts and a sweatshirt with our AEA logo on them.

Elementary School Dress Code:

  • Red or white polo with the AEA logo
  • Navy blue bottoms (skirt, shorts or pants)
  • Shoes must be closed toed (NO Crocs)

Middle School Dress Code:

  • Navy Blue or white polo with the AEA logo
  • Navy blue/khaki bottoms (skirt, shorts or pants)
  • Shoes must be closed toed (NO Crocs)
What is International Baccalaureate?

The International Baccalaureate(IB) is a globally recognized program that challenges students to think critically, engage with real-world issues, and develop the skills to succeed in college and life anywhere in the world.

Does your school have an athletics program?

Yes, we offer soccer, basketball, cheerleading, flag football, and volleyball.

Does your school offer an after school program?

Yes, we do offer an after-school program; however, we do ask that our AEA families apply here
