FoAEA Family Picnic is this Sunday and FoAEA urgently needs volunteers for the board next year

Dear AEA Families,

Sunday Funday Spring Picnic is this Sunday!

Join us this Sunday, May 18 for the FoAEA Sunday Funday Spring Picnic at Panama 66 in Balboa Park from 3-6pm. All AEA families are welcome and food will be available for purchase. Raffles, games, and prizes will be available at this FREE, casual, family-friendly event. The San Diego Museum of Art will offer arts and crafts for the kids and Museum tours free of charge.

FoAEA Board Needs Volunteers for the 2025-2026 School Year!

Remember those early days at AEA when your Kinder received a Schultüte at the Kinder Tea, or when you met families at the back to school pizza party, or when your kids were singing German songs and swinging their lanterns at the Lanternfest?

ALL OF THOSE EVENTS AND MORE WILL NOT TAKE PLACE if we don’t have volunteers to help with the FoAEA board. Trunk or Treat, Wintermarkt, uniform swap, running club supplies, free books at the book fair, and many other programs and events that make our community so amazing are because of volunteers.

FoAEA board elections are on May 20 and we need YOUR help. Can you spare a few hours a week or a month to help support our students, teachers and community? Please email president@foaea.org to learn more about the various positions.

The sad reality is that there will be no events during the 2025-2026 school year at this point unless we get some board members and volunteers. But you can help make a difference!

¡El picnic dominical de primavera es este domingo!

Acompáñennos este domingo 18 de mayo al picnic dominical de primavera de FoAEA en Panama 66 en Balboa Park de 3 a 6 p.m. Todas las familias de AEA son bienvenidas y habrá comida disponible para comprar. Rifas, juegos y premios estarán disponibles en este evento GRATUITO, informal y familiar. El Museo de Arte de San Diego ofrecerá manualidades para los niños y visitas guiadas al museo sin costo alguno.

¡La junta de FoAEA necesita voluntarios para el año escolar 2025-2026!

¿Recuerdan esos primeros días en AEA cuando su hijo de Kinder recibió una Schultüte en el té de Kinder, o cuando conocieron a otras familias en la fiesta de pizza de regreso a clases, o cuando sus hijos cantaban canciones en alemán y llevaban sus linternas en el Laternenfest?

NINGUNO DE ESOS EVENTOS Y MÁS SE LLEVARÁ A CABO si no tenemos voluntarios para ayudar en la junta de FoAEA. Trunk or Treat, Wintermarkt, intercambio de uniformes, materiales para el club de corredores, libros gratuitos en la feria del libro y muchos otros programas y eventos que hacen que nuestra comunidad sea tan increíble, existen gracias a los voluntarios.

Las elecciones de la junta de FoAEA son el 20 de mayo y necesitamos TU ayuda. ¿Puedes dedicar unas pocas horas a la semana o al mes para apoyar a nuestros estudiantes, maestros y comunidad? Por favor, escribe a president@foaea.org para obtener más información sobre los diferentes puestos.

Sunday Funday Frühlingspicknick ist diesen Sonntag!

Kommt am Sonntag, den 18. Mai, zum Sunday Funday Frühlingspicknick von FoAEA im Panama 66 im Balboa Park von 15 bis 18 Uhr. Alle AEA-Familien sind herzlich willkommen, und Essen wird zum Kauf angeboten. Es gibt eine Tombola, Spiele und Preise bei dieser KOSTENLOSEN, ungezwungenen, familienfreundlichen Veranstaltung. Das San Diego Museum of Art bietet kostenlose Kunst- und Bastelangebote für Kinder sowie Museumsführungen an.

Der FoAEA-Vorstand braucht Freiwillige für das Schuljahr 2025–2026!

Erinnert ihr euch noch an die ersten Tage bei AEA, als euer Kind beim Kinder-Tee eine Schultüte bekommen hat? Oder als ihr andere Familien beim Pizzaabend zum Schulbeginn kennengelernt habt? Oder als eure Kinder deutsche Lieder gesungen und beim Laternenfest ihre Laternen geschwenkt haben?

KEINES DIESER UND VIELE WEITERE EVENTS WIRD STATTFINDEN, wenn wir keine Freiwilligen haben, die im FoAEA-Vorstand mithelfen. Trunk or Treat, Wintermarkt, Uniformtausch, Materialien für den Laufclub, kostenlose Bücher bei der Buchmesse und viele weitere Programme und Veranstaltungen, die unsere Gemeinschaft so besonders machen, gibt es nur dank freiwilliger Helfer.

Die Vorstandswahlen von FoAEA finden am 20. Mai statt – und wir brauchen DEINE Unterstützung. Kannst du ein paar Stunden pro Woche oder Monat aufbringen, um unsere Schüler, Lehrer und die Gemeinschaft zu unterstützen? Die traurige Wahrheit ist: Im Schuljahr 2025–2026 wird es keine Veranstaltungen geben, wenn wir nicht bald Vorstandsmitglieder und Freiwillige finden. Aber du kannst etwas bewirken!
