AEACHS Takes a Huge Step Forward

Dear AEA Community:

I am excited to announce that on Thursday, August 26 the San Diego Unified School District’s Charter School Facility Committee recommended approval of the AEA High School building proposal. This means that the approximately $80 million project will now go to the district’s Board of Trustees for a final vote, likely in late September. If the Board votes to allocate the funds, we will be one major step closer to realizing the dream of housing our future high school in a state-of-the-art facility worthy of our students and the IB program.

Many thanks to the over 350 AEA families who expressed support for the project and provided comments in an online survey. Once we receive confirmation of the date and time for the September Board meeting where the AEA facility will be discussed I will share this information with our community.

Sincerely,
Dr. David Sciarretta
Superintendent
