Dear AEA Families:

Greetings and welcome to the 2020-2021 school year at AEA!  As you are well aware, due to the COVID pandemic we will be starting the school year on August 24 in Phase One of the AEA Teaching and Learning Plan.  This means that all AEA students will be learning entirely online until further notice.  As you will note after reading the above plan (available in English and Spanish), student online attendance and participation are required and our teachers will be assigning report card grades just as they do under a traditional face-to-face model.  We will continue to follow local and State guidance as to the conditions under which we will gradually return to more in-person teaching and learning in the future.  As always our approach and decisions will be based on scientific evidence and legal requirements, with an eye first and foremost to the health and safety of our community.

If you are in need of technology support with a computer and/or high speed internet access, please contact the AEA Community Hotline and leave a detailed message (in English or Spanish) so that we can meet your needs.

Once again thank you for supporting and trusting AEA as we move through this challenging time.  Despite the hurdles ahead, we are committed unequivocally to teaching our children today to advance our shared humanity tomorrow.

Sincerely,

Dr. David Sciarretta

Superintendent
