Today our food and technology distribution efforts continued as they have for more than two months. We now have 150 bags ready for distribution tomorrow as part of the AEA Covid Relief Fund efforts. Distribution is first-come, first-served beginning at 9 am on the AEACMS campus. Thanks once again to our volunteers who helped assemble these bags, and to those who will assist in the distribution tomorrow.
My work this weekend will focus on analyzing the Governor’s May revision to the 2020-2021 State budget, and especially on the impacts of potential deep cuts to school funding. This work will lead into staff meetings next week, and ultimately the agenda for the May 26 Board Budget Workshop. Like all public entities in the State, we will have to make some difficult decisions in order to create a balanced budget and maintain long-term stability for AEA while also preserving the core of who we are as IB schools.
