Today we passed the 22,000 mark for meals distributed since our schools closed due to the pandemic. Thanks again to the volunteers from our staff who continue making this initiative possible.

Due to a recent infusion of donations to the AEA Covid19 Relief Fund, pending availability of food items we will now be able to offer weekend food distribution every other Saturday starting May 2 through at least the end of May. We continue to be humbled by donations to this fund, even more so given the current state of our economy with over 25 million Americans unemployed. See our website www.aeacs.org for information on food distribution.

With some US states beginning the process of structured re-opening, we continue to follow guidance from our local and State government and public health officials in terms of how/when our schools will reopen. We will be discussing this topic in more depth this Wednesday, April 29 at 5:30 pm PST at Pastries with the Principals (live-streaming link coming shortly—I will release it on this blog as soon as it is available).

We are in the final stages of negotiating a public/private partnership to provide free dinners to medical and law enforcement first responders one night a week on the AEACMS campus. Stay tuned for more information in the next 24 hours….

Finally, we are working out the final kinks from the newly-installed AEACMS marquee. Very shortly we will have a welcoming message for the community; the screen looks great though!
