With beautiful summer weather arriving in San Diego this week, the city relaxed some of the restrictions around use of parks and trails.  I for one have been enjoying this opportunity to get outside and closer to nature, but with the proper precautions in place.  Here are more details on this gradual re-opening from the city.

Some San Diego parks and trails are now open in a limited capacity.

Mark your calendars for April 29 at 5:30 pm PST.  The AEA principals and I will be hosting a virtual session of Pastries with the Principals.  Prior to that event we will send out more information on accessing the session link as well as guidance for submitting questions.  We realize that this cannot fully replace the face-to-face nature of the usual monthly PWP (not the least of which will be the absence of coffee and pastries generously provided by Friends of AEA) but like so much of our new reality we will make the best of things.  This virtual session will be an opportunity to discuss the AEA Distance Learning Plan and other matters related to school closure as well as looking ahead to the future.

Finally, we continue to be humbled by ongoing contributions to the AEA Covid-19 Relief Fund, which now sits at just under $10,000 raised from over 70 donors.  I will continue updating the community when orders arrive for the second food and necessities distribution event.

Be safe and stay healthy.
