Today we held our first weekend food distribution event for AEA families. Based on survey data, we handed out food boxes to nearly 80 families today. These efforts were funded by generous contributions to the AEA Covid19 Relief Fund over the past 10 days. Thanks to all who donated to the fund as well as to the team of volunteers who showed up early today to help out.
In earlier posts I’ve mentioned AEA 8th grade student, Brayden, who has been working tirelessly to obtain donations of food and gift cards. Brayden, who serves as president of the Associated Student Body (ASB), got some well-deserved recognition yesterday from San Diego Mayor Faulconer (see video below):
