Today Governor Newsom released the May revision to the State’s proposed budget. As anticipated, the revised numbers reflect massive budget shortfalls. Click here for a summary as well as the complete proposed budget. In his address the Governor called on the Federal Government for financial support in balancing the State budget for 2020-2021. Our team is in the midst of analyzing the budget revisions and deducing exactly what these would mean for public education in general and AEA in particular in the upcoming fiscal year and beyond. Once these analyses are clear I will post them on my blog.
Today was the first Feeding the Front Lines event in collaboration with Luna Grill, and it was a great success. We were able to distribute all 250 delicious and healthy meals within the first 45 minutes. This program, supported with generous donations of food from Luna Grill, will continue every Thursday for the next 8 weeks at AEACMS from 12-2 pm.
