Today our free food and technology distribution efforts continued; we will likely hit the 25,000 meal milestone by the end of this week. On the topic of food support, we are gearing up for the second weekend food box distribution this Saturday, May 2 from 9-11 am. Families who indicated a nutrition need will have those needs supported this weekend. For more information on how to indicate food and other needs, click here.  This food is made possible by generous donations to the AEA Covid-19 Relief Fund.

We will be holding our first virtual Pastries with the Principals session this evening at 5:30 pm PST. To view this event please access the following link.

Starting on Thursday, May 7 from 12-2 pm as part of a new private/public partnership we will be offering free dinner to those individuals who are sacrificing for the good of society as front line workers during this pandemic.  This includes law enforcement, military, medical practitioners, etc.  We are finalizing the information on this weekly event, and I will share it here as soon as it is available.

Finally, we continue to monitor local and State officials and their direction related to the reopening of our economy and specifically our schools.  Governor Newsom made some mention in his press conference yesterday of the possibility of the 2020-2021 school year beginning earlier (i.e. over the Summer months).  There are no details as yet on this matter, and it is very likely that the “start” of a new school year would be some combination of online and on-ground formats depending on public health data.  Stay tuned….

Stay healthy, stay safe.  We are stronger together.
